Wet Weather
As coaches, we have found running a wet weather program invaluable. For parents, it means they continue the routine of bringing their kids to the club at the same time every week of the term, and they don't have to call the coach to see whether lessons are on or not. For coaches, it means you don't have to keep looking to the skies and making calls about the weather that professional weather forecasters can't even get right. Eg "Is it going to rain tonight coach?", "Do you think tennis will be on tomorrow given that the forecast is for rain?", etc
"Yes - lessons are on rain, hail or shine" you can confidently answer. It gives coaches the opportunity to go through rule explanations, explain court etiquette and good sportsmanship, tactics, sports psych for older students, goal setting, nutrition, and the list goes on.
To do so, all you need is a small room or clubhouse, some preparation and lots of enthusiasm.
Anyone can design wet weather crosswords, word-finds, multi-choice questions etc - it just takes time!
We have spent considerable time coming up with heaps of the above to make life easier for coaches. For more info on how to purchase these, please contact us .
